Hello, my name is Benjamin Frank and I'm a graphic designer living in Bordeaux, France. Whenever I can I drop my mouse and pick up my DSLR. If you like my work, contact me about your project and I'll see what I can do for you.
You can also have a look at my Flickr feed to see more of my recent images.
As part of a European project with a school here in Bordeaux I took a group of kids out on a photo scavenger hunt to explain and present their homes and school, armed with their own digital cameras and a couple of my trusty Lomo LC-A’s. The kids loved the analog feel of the Lomo and their own digital cameras stayed in their pockets as they ran around taking a whole range of images with both colour and slide film. The next generation of Lomographers is on the way!
New Kodak Professional Portra 400 film
Kodak is planning to replace two of my favorite films in November, the 400NC and 400VC films with a new Kodak Professional Portra 400 film.
The new Kodak Professional Portra 400 film has been designed for scanning and enlargements uses and offers “beautiful, natural skin tones and superb colour reproduction”. The film, which will be available from November, will replace the existing Kodak Professional Portra 400NC and 400VC films - both of which will be discontinued at the end of the year *wobbly bottom lip…*
The new film will be available in 35 mm, 120/220, and 4x5 sheet format. Here’s hoping that the Portra 400 really will represent a step forward in Kodak technology otherwise I’ll be in mourning for the 400VC before the end of the year!
